Creating a Campaign

Determining which type of fundraising campaign will work best and what to expect along the way is just another way Marketing Partners can help you succeed.

Specific types of campaigns may include:

  • Capital campaign – A campaign that secures gifts to meet a specific capital goal of an organization (buildings, equipment, etc.) within a tight timeframe. Involves “once-in-a-lifetime” programs spaced many years apart.
  • Endowment campaign – A single-purpose campaign that targets a special-interest constituency to secure gifts that meet a single objective.
  • Annual giving campaign – Campaign to support the organization’s annual budget, bringing in the funds the organization needs throughout the year to fuel its work. It typically uses pledge cards and such to secure higher level gifts that donors can pay in installments.
  • Planned giving and major gifts campaign – A campaign program that involves a high level of personal cultivation, relationship building, recognition and rewards systems to solicit for substantial donations: gifts of money, stock or other large assets.
  • Comprehensive or combined campaign – Entails a total development program that includes current operations, one-time goals, ongoing giving programs and endowment objectives.
